1959 Pepsi Sociables ad

Other soda manufacturers focused on the teen or family markets, but Pepsi went a different direction.  For a few years in the 1950's Pepsi used these beautiful, sophisticated illustrations to advertise the soft drink. The ads were less likely to feature kids and more like to be set in parties, weddings and child-free outdoor activities.
